where referral means business
Raffles Chapter is the 1st chapter to be officially launched in 2007 by BNI Singapore. As a new group was due to be conceptualized in late 2006, under the wing of Mentoring Director, Ms Ong Kuan Kuan, a core group was created with 4 interested professionals and entrepreneurs in September 2006.
The name “Raffles” refers to Sir Stamford Raffles. Sir Stamford Raffles founded Singapore back in 1819, allowed businesses to flourish in the once fishing village, turning it into a bustling hub of trade and activity which led to the evolution of this city state into one of the most advanced and respected cities and societies in the world. 5 months later, the number had risen to 17 and the Raffles Chapter was officially launched during the BNI Big Breakfast International Networking Day on 6th February 2007.
Like all the other 5,800 chapters worldwide, Raffles Chapter was formed based on the same “Givers Gain” philosophy of BNI. This belief of “what goes around comes around” has since helped Raffles members as well other 132,000 members across 47 countries to increase their business through a structured and proven “word of mouth” program.
Raffles Chapter has set its goals to grow itself by attracting more entrepreneurs and professionals with high level of integrity, trust and ethics. Most importantly however, Raffles Chapter in the same spirit as Sir Stamford Raffles strives to educate, inspire, support and create continuous streams of high quality referrals which will translate into good and rewarding return of investment for our members.
Raffles members meet on every Friday (except public holidays) at 7.30am for a focused breakfast meeting filled with business referrals, fun and education.
